Yourstru.ly premiered a remix i did for one of my favourite Chicago based vocalist, Tink! It’s Chigeria meets the so so def wave. Call it “sophisticated twerk.” Had to throw in the Keenan & Kel sample for my true 90’z beebz, I made this a couple months back while watching it. So glad to FINALLY release this.Someone pleez tell Jermaine Dupri/Lil Jon or M.I.A. to consider signing me or something.

I was in Iowa attempting to practice for my set at grinnell college. unfortunately i didn’t have a chord for this pink beauty so i couldn’t do my thing. Earlier i jumped on a megabus from union square in Chicago which gave me 4 hours of complete rest i didn’t have the night before. One of my homies from iowa city (big picture plane fan) picked me up and drove me 45 mins to grinnel playing nothing but guess who? yep. I opened the night at grinnell “which is offcially my fav place to play” and the homies Morris & Mykki Blanco cracked the night off. I had so much fun i was overwhelmed early and I spent my time in the after pary crying in the corner of  someone’s kitchen. “I was hungry tired and all the restaruants in town were closed down.” = (. Good time overall though.

During a Mykki Blanco tour date at Grinnell College, The GTW spoke to the KDIC radio show, Erasing Boundaries about The Cool Kids, Kid Sister, Flosstradamus, and his introduction to progressive Chicago culture while in high school:

Gold Coast Trading has definitely been one of my favourite brands over the years. The mix of african aesthetic swirled into a forward euro-american culture is the perfect hybrid for people from every walk of life. I mentioned this brand in my “chigeria” interview with the fader. My internet pal Emeka Alams is the curator and mastermind of this flawless project. He blows my mind with the effortless rhythms displayed with every release.
